Toyama Bay, where Mizuhashi is located, is one of the deepest bays on the Japanese coast.
The deepest part of Toyama Bay is 1,200 meters.
Toyama Bay has the largest variety of fish in Japan due to its special topography and the collision of warm and cold currents. 
About 500 species of fish have been identified in Toyama Bay.
